Actor Mohan Babu has been hospitalised following an incident involving a TV9 spokesperson. His public relations team reports that he sustained a head injury during a scuffle on Tuesday night and has been under medical supervision since then, with ongoing tests.
The injured TV9 spokesperson, Ranjith, suffered three fractures in the zygomatic bone between his eye and ear due to the attack. The police have filed a case against Mohan Babu under BNS Section 118 (1), stating that he assaulted Ranjith while he was on duty. Allegedly, Ranjith provoked the altercation by attempting to snatch Mohan Babu's microphone and phone. The FIR details that Ranjith faced verbal abuse and physical assault, including being struck with a steel pipe and a microphone with a metal logo. According to the report, Ranjith only engaged with the family when invited by Manchu Manoj to clarify the situation at the residence.
Tensions have been steadily rising in Jalpalli, with the ongoing Manchu family feud becoming a trending topic in the Telugu states. What began as competition-related grievances has escalated into a full-blown conflict, spilling beyond the family's private matters into public view.
Manchu Manoj's wife, Mounika, expressed her anger over the lack of security for Manoj, especially after a formal complaint was submitted. In a heated phone conversation with the police, she threatened to file a private case if any harm came to her children or family. She insisted on fair treatment from law enforcement regarding the situation.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that the altercation escalated after Manoj confronted Mohan Babu's staff, which triggered Mohan's anger. Employees from Mohan Babu's residence indicated that this altercation was not isolated but rather a continuation of previous disputes.
In response to the escalating conflict, senior police officials have taken precautionary measures, ordering the immediate seizure of firearms belonging to both Mohan Babu and Manchu Vishnu. Additionally, the Rachakonda police have issued notices to Mohan Babu, Vishnu, and Manoj, requiring their presence for questioning at 10:30 AM today.
